His master said to him, 'Well done, my good and faithful servant.
Since you were faithful in small matters,
I will give you great responsibilities.

Come and share! I am not sure why I had not noticed those words before but it may be that I am so "full of responsibility" with family and work and friends, that I perhaps have not taken enough time out to simply experience the joy and hope that being faithful to God can have for me. Most of us know that verse, "well done my good and faithful servant", but let's also remember to share in the joy that God has with the graces He will bestow on us. This weekend, Labor Day weekend, take back that day of rest that God has deemed so important that He includes it in the Creation story.
From our Creation story, from the beginning of our knowledge of Him, "on the seventh day, He rested". God included that day of rest for us to ponder the more important things of our lives, to renew and rejuvenate ourselves so that we can be productive and take on the tasks of our work more effectively, thereby giving the glory of our better rested work back to God! This weekend, no matter where you are and how busy you may be, please take some time out to pray and rest in the joy that the graces that God can give us.
