As they prayed, the place where they were gathered shook, and they were all filled with the holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31
Can you imagine being with the apostles during the birth of the church? Sharing about the resurrection. Seeing God move in the people each day. Having your life threatened by the authorities. What an awesome experience! Except maybe the life threatening part. But that didn't stop the disciples. They knew that spreading the good news was more important than anything else. So they went forward courageously living the Gospel even when the world was against them. Seeing the persecution of Christians in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday was a stark reminder that we are still facing a world that does not want to hear the good news. During this Easter season let us pray so hard that the world shakes with the power of God.
Where will I find the courage to spread God's message when faced with adversity?
God, grant me the strength to pray with conviction and to believe that you are truly present in my life through the Holy Spirit.
