I call that moment we awake and face the new day, the moment of reckoning..
But he said in reply,
'Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.'
Therefore, stay awake
Matthew 25:13
I call that moment we awake and face the new day, the moment of reckoning. How will I approach the day? What will be important and what will seem important and turn out to be mundane? It is important to me to spend time planning the day, and then I try to regroup midday to see what there is left to do and what needs to be done. The Gospels this time of year will ask us to consider the end times, as we wrap up the liturgical year. We see division and during times of trial, that it is important to be prepared. After a very busy hurricane season many of us know how important it is to be prepared as best we can, but the most important message still needs to be reflected, and for me, it is often one I find comfort in during that "moment of reckoning" , for most of us, at sunrise. God is in charge, and He will comfort us in times of great trial, if we ask Him into our hearts and see refuge in prayer. It is important to think ahead and be prepared and it is important to be grateful for what we have, and to seek our consolation not in the passing things of this world, but in the more permanent things of God's Heaven.

Newsroom, May 3, 2024 / 17:05 pm (CNA).Father Roger Landry, a Catholic chaplain at Columbia University, said on Thursday that the protests making national headlines at the New York City school are being organized in part by "explicitly communist" outside forces. "There is an instrumentalization of what's going on in Gaza to advance an agenda," he said. "And that is to deconstruct our present world order at which the United States is considered the top of that order."Speaking on EWTN's "The World Over with Raymond Arroyo," Landry said that he had been walking through the encampment nearly daily, conversing with student protesters and other "outside agitators." While he said he believes that many of the protesters we...
