A Little Goes a Long Way

Ezekiel 47:9b

Where these waters flow they refresh; everything lives where the river goes.

My boys and I made homemade slime a couple of weeks ago. It's glue, water & borax (which I just learned can burn kids' skin if held for too long!). If you want your slime green or another crazy color, all you have to do is add food coloring. My son was excited to pour the food coloring instead of just add a couple of drops. That's all it needs to color the entire batch. Everything turns blue, not just what the first drop touches, it just takes a little mixing up!

In this reading from Ezekiel, similar to the food coloring, this water starts as a trickle. It soon became ankle deep and within a few verses we read that it became an impassable river - but not just any river, a river that allows life to grow abundantly and turns salty seas fresh.

I sometimes feel like my faith is just barely trickling out of me. Either I am being a weak example of my faith or I just feel like I don't have the right answers. But what a testament to the power of God to take something so small and make great things happen. YOUR trickle of faith can become a river that will refresh and bring life wherever it goes. All you have to do is uncork it - allow one drop at a time to color the life around you.
