Your light has come!

By Martina Ver Pault
What a glorious day!...

“Rise up in splendor, Jerusalem! Your light has come, the glory of the Lord shines upon you.”

Isaiah 60:1

What a glorious day!  The Light of the World is being revealed to the nations of the world.  At Resurrection Catholic Church, we had a passion play on Good Friday for decades.  One of our parishioners would dress up like a Native American and bring turquoise as a gift for the Messiah.  He explained that he was one of the Wisemen-a chief of his tribe- that was traveling, and it took him thirty-three years to arrive.  The gift of turquoise stood for eternal life.  It is a nice sentiment to think that the world recognized the Christ child and followed the star.

I like the thought that Wisemen still seek Him.  People need to know that Christ is born.  Our Savior, Emmanuel, God is with us.  Through thick and thin, He is with us.  Through our trials and tribulations, He is with us.  God loves you.  He loves us enough to send His only begotten Son into this world as a babe in a manger, in the poorest of circumstances to bring us the greatest gift, eternal life.

Is there anyone in your life that you can announce the birth of Christ to?

Dear Lord, thank You for sending Your Son to bring us the gift of eternal life.  Help us to Courageously Live the Gospel.
