How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God? John 5:44
If you like sharing on social media you probably enjoy seeing your friends reacting to your posts and comments. I do. Are you one who checks back regularly to see how many "likes" you got? It's nice to receive praise and admiration from friends and colleagues, as long as you don't let it consume you. The Pharisees were that way. They cared more about what others thought of them than what God thought. Don't get caught up in other people's feelings toward you – positive or negative. Be more mindful of God's approval (or disapproval). Sometimes, our faith may not get the reaction we want from our peers. That's okay. Don't succumb to their pressure. Stay strong in your Christian convictions and know that the only one who really matters is God. He loves you.
As we enter the home stretch of this Lenten season, lets focus more on God's word and what He thinks of us, rather than those of our peers.
Lord, what can I do to gain a greater understanding of your will for me? Show me ways to let your grace flow outward from my heart.
