Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever. PS 136:1
"Thank you" are two simple words that carry so much kindness and power. Yet we often take them for granted. They can be overlooked when received and be missed when they are not given. Saying thanks or thank you shows your appreciation of a deed or comment given to you. Many use the term often. But it still surprises me how many people don't. I wonder if they forget, or take things for granted, or are just too distracted to say it. Thank you - Easy to say and very meaningful.
So why do so many fail to tell God how thankful they are? He blesses us richly each day. Even in our sorrows there are signs of love and mercy. Giving thanks to our Lord should be something we all should do more often. It is our affirmation that He has provided for us. He has shown us mercy. He has blessed us. And he continues to do so even when we screw up. Let's take a moment to say "Thank you, Father" throughout our daily routine and show our gratitude for His goodness.
