"Lord, please tell me what I should do... guide me". This is a pretty common prayer for believers, as it should be. We want to follow God's will for our lives but feel unsure sometimes as to what path He'd have us take.
Psalms 139:12a
Darkness is not dark for you, and night shines as the day.
"Lord, please tell me what I should do... guide me". This is a pretty common prayer for believers, as it should be. We want to follow God's will for our lives but feel unsure sometimes as to what path He'd have us take. Even when we think we are doing what God wants us to do, we doubt. We want signposts, clarity, certainty that we are truly walking in His light. But God wants our trust. He knows the plans He has for us. Just because we can't see the road and it appears dark to us, His path is clear. We should be more trusting in His guiding presence than we should be in our ability to discern His will. If we are truly seeking His will in the ways that are clear (prayer, reading Scripture, helping others) then walking in His light should naturally follow. I'm not saying that we should not ask God for guidance but that we should trust that He is already guiding us, even when we may be unsure of our footing on His path.
