Isaiah 50:5
The Lord GOD opened my ear; I did not refuse, did not turn away.
It's fairly common for the will of God to be at odds with our own desires. Even Jesus, who knew the sacrifice He was called to make, wished He could avoid the suffering to come before His crucifixion. However, He put God's will above his own. This can be extremely difficult sometimes because it involves trusting God's plan, which is often only revealed to us in bits and pieces. The gaps in knowledge must be filled with trust; trust that God's plan is what's best for us. This Holy Week, ask God for a trust like what Jesus had in the garden. May our hearts always be open to His will even when wish the "cup" would pass from us.
