The Seed You May Not See

Acts 17:32

When they heard about resurrection of the dead, some began to scoff, but others said, "We should like to hear you on this some other time."

Sharing your faith with others can be tough. Sometimes a remark from a friend that you thought was an open door to talk about Jesus can turn into the opening salvo of a full-blown argument. This kind of back-and-forth is not necessarily a bad thing but it can sometimes leave us feeling like we haven't really done much to further the Kingdom unless they clearly seem convinced of the truth of the Gospel. However, it's important to remember that just because someone doesn't accept the message of Christ right away, that doesn't mean that you haven't planted a seed. Notice how this verse from Acts differentiates between those who seem to reject the Good News outright and those who seem intrigued but aren't quite ready to become Christians. A seed was planted there. Just because you don't see the fruit of conversion right away after sharing your faith, doesn't mean a seed isn't germinating in someones heart. They may just need some time.
