John 14:12
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father.
Imagine what it would have been like to witness Jesus' miracles first-hand. Walking on water, healing the sick, the Resurrection, I think many of us believe that if we saw these events with our own eyes our faith would be unshakable. There's also a tendency to see Jesus' time on earth performing wonders as a sort of golden age of miracles that has long-since ended. But Jesus seems to be telling us that the opposite is true in this verse, that greater things are yet to come. Miracles are no relic of the past, they are happening today. We just have to keep our eyes and our hearts open for/to them. Just read the stories of the Saints and the amazing wonders that God worked through them. The golden age of miracles never ended. It's happening right now!
