TREATING YOURSELF AND OTHERS WITH GRACE

By Fernando
As Christians, we sometimes make Christianity more complicated than it needs to be. We turn following Christ into a list...

Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

As Christians, we sometimes make Christianity more complicated than it needs to be. We turn following Christ into a list of "don't do"s rather than a way of life. There's nothing wrong with obedience and avoiding sin, these are good things, but the point of being a Christian is living a life of love and Grace in Christ. A result of seeing Christianity as a list of rules can be to forget the love Christ has for us. Yes, Jesus wants us to turn from sin but it's because he wants what's best for us. This means not only treating others with grace when they stray from the path God has for us, but also ourselves.

Question for reflection:

Am I failing to live in the love and grace of Christ by being too hard on others or myself?

Lord, help me to treat others, and myself, with grace today and every day.
