Thomas said to him, "Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth* and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:5-6
As a child, we all played the game, Hide and Seek. The person who is "it" has to find the others before they can get back "home". Unlike the children's game, many of us still have trouble finding our way home. While most religions involve humanity's search for God, Christian's faith lies in the belief that God also seeks us. Through his parables, Jesus taught us that God indeed comes searching for each one of his children (Luke 15:1-7). He shows us the path we need to take. He gives us the map through his son, Jesus. God even shines the light for us to follow as we seek truth and our purpose in life. Our way home is clear. It is found through our own personal relationship with Jesus.
What obstacles are keeping me from finding my way to the Father? What must I do clear the path?
Lord Jesus, help me to find my way. Free me from the clutches of this world's sinful nature so I may journey faithfully with you.
