Luke 11:2
He said to them, "When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come."

These days, it seems like the prevailing wisdom from popular culture is that focusing on ourselves is very important. This is not entirely untrue. Self-care and self-respect shouldn't be neglected. The issue comes when we focus too much on our own feelings, thoughts, and desires. People weren't meant to focus on ourselves all the time. It's been my experience that turning inward can be very detrimental to our walk with God. We are meant to be focused on others and on God much more than is encouraged by our culture. In doing so, I think you'll find that focusing on His will come easier. You may also find the things you worried about previously, don't distress you as much as they used to.
