The Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Magnificat or Canticle of Mary, which this verse comes from, is also known as Mary's Song of Praise. She "sings" it to her cousin Elizabeth when she goes to visit her to give her the good news. We all have favorite songs that for one reason or another have spoken to us. Maybe it's the beat or melody, but more often it's the lyrics. This verse could easily be the chorus from any praise song. Can't you picture 15,000 fans at Winterjam singing this line aloud as they listen to their favorite artist onstage? It could be a line from a soft ballad. Or it could be the hook for a rocker, fist pumps and all. The point is, this verse which Mary shared with Elizabeth is one for the ages. We all could easily sing it oursleves. Because it applies to everyone. And holy is His name.
Lord God, let me sing your praises in thanksgiving for the many blessings you have given me.
