It's back-to-school time. One of the first things young kids are often asked to do when they start a new school year is a sort of "Show & Tell" to their classmates. It can be about their summer, or they bring in something that's special to them and talk about it. It's a great ice-breaker for children to get to know each other.
In today's first reading Moses is quick to point out all the things God did for the Israelites; many of which they saw with their own eyes and experienced first-hand. He runs down a long list of things which took place. It doesn't get any better than that right? And yet many still doubted and complained. So God went one better and became flesh through his son, Jesus. Miracles ensued and still some didn't believe. You have to wonder "what's next?" What does God have to do to get everyone on board? That's where we come in. We are God's showers (exhibitors) and tellers. Just as Jesus gave his apostles their mission to go out and proclaim the good news, God calls us to share what we've experienced through His love and grace. Nothing, no one, can supplant God. There is no other.
