Remember the Goodness of God

By Davis
Think about a time you recognized the goodness of God in your life...

Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him.

John 2:11

Think about a time you recognized the goodness of God in your life. It was probably a moment when he gave you peace in a time of grief, or healing in a time of sickness. Maybe it was simply a moment you recognized his grace in your relationship with your spouse or children. At that moment you knew that God is good. But was God not good before then?

It struck me as funny that the disciples of Jesus would just now begin to believe in him. Why were they following him if they didn’t believe? But if I’m honest, don’t I suspend my belief in Jesus on a regular basis? When things aren’t going my way I conveniently forget the goodness of God.

What would your life look like if you remembered that God is good even when you don’t see his blessings?

Heavenly Father, fill us with your Spirit so we can remember your grace is sufficient for all our needs.
