John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.

John 3:16 is easily the most popular verse ever referenced. It a sort of ultra summary of the Gospel message. In looking at the verse and what it says we encounter the awesome truth of just what God did for us on the cross. The Creator, the Lord of all, loved us, His creation, so much that He came to earth and became one of us. Not only did He enter into our time and our world, but He didn't spare Himself from being a victim of a horrible death. He did all of this because He loves us and wants us spend eternity with Him. All we have to do is follow Him. I don't think we often enough really sit and think about what an amazing series of events God set in motion for our sake. He loves us that much! You are worth that much to Him!
