Matthew 20:25-26a

But Jesus summoned them and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and the great ones make their authority over them felt. But it shall not be so among you."

Are you a person of power? I think most people would answer, "no". We may describe politicians, world leaders, and maybe even corporate CEOs that way but likely not ourselves, but maybe we should. Everyone has some degree of "power" in that we all are given the opportunity to shape the world. Our decisions with money, how we spend our time, our treatment of others, etc. can effect those around us in profound ways. This influence, this "power" can be wielded in a self-centered, ego-driven way so as to make the world in our image or we can choose not to "lord it over" others. Instead, we can allow our Lord, instead of our own desires, to guide us in how we use the influence He's given us. So today think about the power and authority God has placed in your hands and how it can be used for His glory.
