The rise of social media has changed the way we interact. To what extent has yet to be fully understood. Whenever some major event occurs we can be tempted to feel like not posting something about it is, at best, a missed opportunity and at worst, irresponsible. This has obvious implications for our egos. We suddenly have the ability to shape people's perception of us in a way never before seen. With this power comes the temptation to cast ourselves in the best possible light and sometimes even outright brag about the good we do. We should be careful to guard against this and ask God to help us to communicate humbly with others, especially online.
