Psalms 17:6
I call upon you; answer me, O God. Turn your ear to me; hear my speech.
The Psalms are such a beautiful look at what it's like to be a follower of God but also a struggling flesh-and-blood human. They don't hold back in expressing joy, frustration, anger, love, gratitude, and more of the emotions we find ourselves in the midst of as Christians. One of these struggles can be in prayer. We may encounter thoughts like; "Does He hear me?" or "I am I just talking to the clouds?". The answers to these questions are, of course, yes and no respectively. But sometimes we just don't feel like He's listening. Working through these feelings are completely normal and you shouldn't feel bad for having them. Frankly, I've found in my own life, that feelings are fleeting and fickle but the faithfulness of God is constant and unshakable. It's OK to struggle and cry out to God but remember that our feelings are nowhere near as trustworthy as His goodness.
