However, the actual word means different things to different people. The most reliable authority on true love is naturally the author of it: God. Scripture talks about love and gives us numerous examples of it. The love described there is powerful, transformative, and resilient. It's more than feelings, more than affection. It fights for the beloved. The good news of the Gospel is that we are profoundly loved by the most powerful being in the universe and He will go through incredible lengths to show us that love. In a world filled with fleeting things, the love He has for us never fails. It's a love we can always rely on.
