And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.” He warned them sternly not to make him known.

No matter how hard He tried, Jesus just couldn’t get people to keep their mouths shut! Everywhere he went word spread like wildfire about his goodness. It has always perplexed me a little that Jesus would even try to get people, and in today’s Gospel demons, not to tell who He was. But no matter how hard he tried, the light of his actions always came through. I think that’s a pretty good lesson for us. As long as we are allowing the light of Jesus to shine through us we don’t need to tell people about Jesus. His light will do it for us!
How can I allow the light of Jesus to shine bright in my life today?
Heavenly Father, show us the light of Jesus so we may pass it along to others.
