I have a friend who loves to fish. It's not necessarily for the joy of catching a "big one", but rather the experience he has on the open water. He often will go fishing when he needs to think over an important decision or something that he's conflicted about. Sometimes he brings along others and sometimes he goes by himself. The deciples were at a crossroads and unsure what they were going to do next. So, Peter decides to go fishing and several others join him. After a night of quiet nets a voice from the shore instructs them to cast the nets on the other side and you know what happened next.
Often, it's in those quiet moments that we hear God speaking to us. He gives us wisdom. It's in that time that we can either listen to his message and be obedient, or turn a deaf ear to his word. If you are at a crossroads and looking for a sign, don't lose your focus in the noise of this world. Be patient, stay watchful, and don't overlook what may be the obvious.
