Deuteronomy 4:9

However, be on your guard and be very careful not to forget the things your own eyes have seen, nor let them slip from your heart as long as you live, but make them known to your children and to your children's children

My memory might be the weirdest thing about me. It's both reliable and unreliable at the same time. I can remember things that happened years ago very well but will sometimes forget certain things that happened 2 days ago. It can be super frustrating. The increased responsibility of adulthood has made writing things down a necessity. Lists and reminders have become a common tool for me. I think writing things down can be a great practice in our spiritual lives too. The blessings God showers on us can be hard to remember sometimes so keeping a record can really allow us to see Him working in our lives in a more comprehensive way. In looking through these blessings, we can be encouraged by God's faithfulness in our lives, especially in those times when we don't feel God near. So, take some time today to reflect on what God has done for you this week and jot it down.
