We all have sins that we feel like we just can't shake. It can be extremely frustrating to be so focused on ridding some sin from your life and falling to it again anyway. It can be pretty disheartening. We can even feel tempted to drift into self-loathing. "How could I do that again?", we might think to ourselves. "What is wrong with me!?". This is totally normal. However, we can also be tempted to think that God must that same frustration with us. This is a mistake. It's important to remember that there is no "last straw" with God. His mercy flows even when the mercy we extend to ourselves has seemingly run dry. So, as a very wise friar named Br. Richard Henry often told me; "Be good to yourself!"
