We talk a lot about God's love, as Christians. Rightly so! It's a very big deal. But I don't think we spend enough time really thinking about the implications of that love. One of them being that He has made us His daughters and sons. Think about that for a second. The one who created all out of nothing has made you His child through Jesus Christ. God has made us part of His family. Seeing God in this context helps us get clearer picture how He actually relates to us. For example, it's tempting to sometimes see God as some divine rule-maker who is just waiting for us to fall short so he can reign punishment on us. The reality is so much more beautiful and comforting. In actuality He is a loving father who wants us to succeed and live our best life. He cheers in our victories and suffers in our defeats. Because He is our Father, He is on our side!
