Acts 22:6-7
"On that journey as I drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from the sky suddenly shone around me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?'
How you ever felt like you've fallen too far, that your sins are just too great to forgive? Today the Catholic Church celebrates the conversion of St. Paul. In light of all the good he did for the Church and how many people he brought into the faith, it's easy to gloss over the evil he committed as 'Saul'. In the name of God, he sought out Christians to punish for their faith. He did so openly and with the consent of the Jewish leaders of the day in Jerusalem. Yet, despite his past he is one of the greatest evangelists the world has ever known. God singled him out for a specific purpose even while he led Christians away in chains. There is such hope in this! The Lord is calling all of us to holiness and has a purpose for us all, no matter how far we've fallen into sin and evil.
