Then he said to them, "Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have." Luke 24:38-39
Imagine being a disciple still reeling from the events of the past few days and Jesus suddenly appears in front of you. You're now in the same room with a man who died and was entombed for days and He's offering you encouragement. Confusion is an understandable reaction. But notice how Jesus responds to His perplexed disciples. He invites them to encounter Him, to look and touch.
Sometimes, we can find ourselves in situations that leave us searching for answers and we wish God would just give us a clear sign, or a nice and neat solution. Instead He gives us Himself, His presence. It may not be the response we want but it's the one we need.

How can situations where I'm confused or discouraged help me draw closer to Jesus?
Lord, grant us peace in those times when our hearts feel restless and help us to encounter you more fully.
