Would you say that you're a worrywart? Or does bad stuff roll off of you like water on a duck's back? They say many comedians suffer from insecurity. I've know people in radio who were like that too. We can all probably think of times in our lives when we worried more than we needed to. Or maybe rightfully so.
Jesus was preparing his disciples of what was to come and trying to calm their fears. They must have listened incredulously as Jesus predicted that one of them would betray him and Peter would deny him. So he tells them not to worry. "You have faith in God, have faith also in me."
Our faith is like a lifeline to God. It helps us deal with the bad stuff in our lives differently. Rather than being a worrywart, we can look at our troubles through a new lens. Our faith in God (and Jesus) gives us hope, strength, and confidence so we can tackle our troubles head on. We may not win all our battles but, because of Jesus, the war has already been won for us.
Lord Jesus, guide me to walk in your way, for I believe that you are my truth and my life.
