Courageously Leading

By Br. Lucius Amarillas
Today, the Church celebrates the courageous example of...

He appointed Twelve, whom he also named Apostles, that they might be with him and he might send them forth to preach  and to have authority to drive out demons

Mark 3:14-15

Today, the Church celebrates the courageous example of a little girl, whom we know as Saint Agnes. At the beginning of the fourth century, when Christianity was illegal under Roman law, this young woman Agnes was tried and executed for being a member of the Christian family. Before her execution, she could have saved herself by recanting her beliefs in God and love for Christ, but she refused; instead, Agnes only maintained her betrothal to Christ.
