(Vatican Radio) The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro came to an end on Sunday after 17 days of competition.The United States led the medals table with 121, 46 of them gold.Listen to the report by James Blears:Among the most heartwarming stories of this Olympics was during the women’s 5000 metres, when New Zealand`s Nikki Hamblin and Abbey D`Agostino of the United States accidently collided,  with the American crashing to the track injured. Hamblin admirably stayed with Abbey helping her, abandoning her part in the completion. Nikki was awared the Pierre De Coubertin medal for fair play.The next summer Olympics will take place in 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.
(Vatican Radio) The annual Rimini meeting is continuing in the Italian city with thousands of people of different faiths and cultures taking part. Attending the meeting are two Christian Syrian brothers, Klaus Bazerji e George Bazerji from Aleppo. They fled their homeland and are now both studying in Germany. George and Klaus spoke to Vatican Radio's Luca Collodi about Christian persecution and the ongoing conflict in the country. The Rimini Meeting takes place this year from 19-25 August.
