John 3:16-17
God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
I loved when Mom or Dad would call me out to work on a project in the shop. Whether it was my job to hold something, hammer something or clean something—I enjoyed co-working with my parents to build something. I've always been struck by the word "might" in this scripture passage. This word "might" reflects the desire our God has to bring us into His work of redemption. Rather than being a genie who solves our problems and leaves us weak, God empowers us and strengthens us. Our God invites us to receive His Love and proclaim it to others. God beckons us, asks us°will you come work with me?
