Then they said to each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us?" Luke 24:32
When I was a child, I used to think church was boring. It didn't relate to me, I didn't understand it, and it was just an obligation when my parents took me there. As I grew older, I began to understand some of the lessons in scripture and how the parables related to my life. As I continued to grow, I began to develop a relationship with Jesus. I went on a Christian retreat, and had an "Aha" moment where it all became clear. That "Aha" moment was probably like that with the disciples. What a feeling it is! It's now my responsibility to bring others to that same moment and to that life in Christ.
Question for Reflection
How much do I reflect on God's word so that it comes to life for me?
Lord Jesus, help me to proclaim your name as I recognize you in the breaking of the bread!
