John 17:20
"I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word°"
In today's Gospel Jesus prays "not only for these, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one."
Jesus prayed for the disciples but now he widens his prayers to include those who will follows Him because they believe in His Resurrection.
Jesus' prayer in today's Gospel should inspire us to do the same for others because this prayer is a prayer to unite all the believers.
Satan is always at work to divide us, but Christ is always at work to unite us. If we unite together with and in Christ the effectiveness, not only will multiply but would be endless.
I pray that we may all unite together just as Jesus prayed for us; and may we all have the desire to include everyone in union with Our Lord Jesus.
