In my mid-twenties I made a decision to not just go through the motions, but to live out the Gospels. My life drastically changed, I lost a lot of friends, but I gained a much larger family. That life change took trust in God that I didn’t realize I had.
For the first time, my life seemed chaotic and out of sorts, but I had a peace that surpassed all understanding. Now, in my late forties, I have learned that in order to keep that unexplainable peace, my trust in God cannot waiver and when it does, all I have to do is turn my focus back to Jesus Christ and the cross.
I have found that with so many distractions vying for your attention… it almost seems impossible to stay focused on Jesus. I am grateful for the best manual on how to live this beautiful life. In Isaiah 26, we are told to focus on the Lord and to put all of our trust in Him and He will bring unending peace. And that peace itself is perfect.
