The Right Path

By Kody Dahlke
The Gospel reading from Matthew today tells the story of when the authority of Jesus was questioned...

Matthew 21:27

So they said to Jesus in reply, "We do not know." He himself said to them, "Neither shall I tell you by what authority I do these things.

The Gospel reading from Matthew today tells the story of when the authority of Jesus was questioned by the chief priests and elders of the temple. When trying to make an important decision in our lives, sometimes we try to reason our way through our choices to determine the best course of action to take. However, when we fail to reason our way to the best choice, some of us will be tempted to just give up and wait for a divine sign from above. Today's Gospel reading reminds us that in order to receive an answer from the Lord we must make a decision first and trust that the Lord will guide us down the right path. If you have a big decision to make in your life soon, don't be afraid to bring your decision to the Lord and putting your trust in him by saying "let thy will be done."
