Mt. 18:3
Unless you turn and become like children
My dad used to wear these cowboy boots to mass. We'd come home and he'd take the boots off and leave them by the door. My little sister and I would then take turns putting Dad's boots on and walking around on the heels. We wanted to be like our Daddy—big, strong, protective. Jesus invites us in the Gospel to turn and become like children—to have hearts that are open, see love, trust and aspire to greatness. Today, in spite of whatever the relationship with your own parents might look like, ask for the grace to see yourself as God the Father's child. The Child certainly sees the world through a different lens, something as simple as boots takes on a world of meaning. When we turn and become like Children the many signs of our Father's love become clear.
