We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," but hates his brother, he is a liar
The first paragraph of the first reading is powerful and convicting. I know that for me the idea that I must love God gets separated from being loving to others, especially when they are difficult to be around. Let's remember that challenge in the first reading to love the face in front of us throughout the day because that face is known and tenderly loved by the same Christ who knows and loves our face.
