So much has been said about Mary's "yes" and for good reason. Her decision to trust in the Lord opened the door for God to do nothing less but change the course of human history forever. In looking at this beautiful moment we can forget the circumstances. An angel appears to a young woman and asks her to bear the Son of God. Think about what she may have felt: confusion, shock, and maybe even terror. However, she said, "yes" anyway. She chose to trust despite how she may have felt about the situation. Let's look to her as a model of true courage this Advent and Christmas season; the courage to say, "yes" and to trust int he Lord despite our fears.
