THE MOVIE OF YOUR LIFE

By John Morris
If your life was a movie that you and Jesus watched together...

"Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" She replied, "No one, sir." Then Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin any more."  John 8:10-11

I'm sure most of us have been caught in a position where we didn't live up to expectations of others. Maybe we let someone down by our actions or lack of action.  When I was a kid, I never wanted my grandparents to know of my mess ups.  I was the apple of their eye and could do no wrong.  So when my grades suffered or I got into trouble at home, I never wanted them to know.  I didnt want to bring them shame. I didn't with parents either, but the grandparents didn't live with us and I didn't see them very often so they only knew what I or my parent told them. It was the guilt and shame that was hard on me. For those that condemn our actions, we ask for forgiveness and mercy.  Such is the case with God.  We don't want to disappoint God with our sins. We also must be merciful for those who sin against us. Imagine if at the end of your life, Jesus sits with you and watches the story of your life as a movie.  Would you be embarrassed? Keep that in mind the next time you are tempted by sin.

Question for Reflection

Do I want to sit with Jesus and watch the playback of my life including of my sins?

Lord, help me to be as merciful to others as you are to me!
