Superlative Awards

By Joshua Bertrand
In high school its normal that the yearbook has superlatives for the graduating class such as...

Psalm 106:

Blessed are they who observe what is right, who do always what is just. Remember us, O LORD, as you favor your people; visit us with your saving help.

In high school its normal that the yearbook has superlatives for the graduating class such as most likely to succeed or most athletic, and the list goes on. For many people that photo and the caption underneath are the mask that they want the world to see them as. People young and old can spend a lot of their time cultivating a character for the world to see. However, we might be able to be fooled, but we can't fool God, he sees us as we are, he sees the goodness that he created us as, and wants to share eternity with us. We reflect that faith in God by allowing ourselves to be moved throughout the day according to His grace, and working to announce the arrival of his Kingdom on earth. We work tirelessly to be a good student, a good child, a good mother, or father. Can we say that we allow ourselves to be moved through the day living a life that is based on the presence of God, or are we tiring ourselves out for a superlative award and caption? The Lord has already given us the most important accolade to us, if we but look at the world through the eyes of faith, we will see we are graced.
