Simplicity

By Paul Ciulei
In the First Reading we read of how God created...

In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless wasteland, and darkness covered the abyss, while a mighty wind swept over the waters. - Gn 1:1

In the First Reading we read of how God created; He created everything so simply. I recently read a book by Matthew Kelly where I found a quote that really struck me, it said, "Jesus constantly invites us to simplicity through His teachings in the Gospels. Everyone yearns for simplicity, but our lives have a habit of getting out of control, a habit of becoming overwhelmed and overcrowded. Usually we have only ourselves to blame for how complicated our lives have become. Indeed, in many ways we seem attracted to the complicated." We complicate our lives because we do not know what we want. Matthew Kelly says that "simplicity" is the way to clarity. Jesus had a very clear sense of who He was and the mission before Him; to heal and preach the Good News.

I encourage everyone to get clear about who you are and who your are not, about what you do and what you do not do. The sooner you get clear on these things, the sooner your life will begin to simplify and flourish because of the clarity that simplicity will bring. We complicate our lives because we do not have a clear sense of what our core values are. Everyone's purpose/core is to become the-best-version-of-yourself, the person who God created you to be. Life becomes much simpler as you begin to develop a sense of who you are, what you want, what your values are, and what role you are called to play in the wonderful adventure we call life!

What am I here for? Do you have a clear sense of what your purpose, your core values, and your critical success factors are?

Pray that everyone may be honest with themselves.
