I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father.
Many of us are like sheep, and will follow whatever voice we think is true. In our world of mass media and talking heads, it is difficult to find truth. Messages are slanted and manipulated and those that we are to trust can sometimes mislead us. Jesus Christ came 2000 years ago to show us the truth, to shepherd us through a world of danger and sin. He created the Church all those years ago to help us, to shepherd us, and this church has continued to grow over the centuries. But it takes you and I to listen. If we don't listen to the voice of truth, then we separate from the flock and fall into danger. Jesus tells us, "They will hear my voice, and there will be one flock and one shepherd." Take some time today to listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd. Sit in quiet reflection, even for 5 minutes and listen to what Jesus is saying to you. He may be guiding you to greener pastures that you would have never imagined.
