Mark 9:33-35
They came to Capernaum and, once inside the house, he began to ask them, "What were you arguing about on the way?"
But they remained silent. They had been discussing among themselves on the way who was the greatest.
Then he sat down, called the Twelve, and said to them, "If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all."
In this gospel reading Jesus corrects his Apostles as to who will be first. We shouldn't be selfish, we should want to serve not to want something in return, but because we truly love, because we want to. Sometimes when I see some of my brother seminarians sitting alone on the weekends, everyone is doing their own thing, I would sit with them. Mostly in silence and other times I would talk to them, because I'm an introvert. I do this to give the guys comfort, and on the off-chance that they are going through something. In Highschool I had longed someone to sit with me during lunch, and I do not wish that on anyone, much less my brothers at seminary. I try to serve them this way because it is the least I can do to help, as one should find something be able to help/serve others.

I love philosophy, and how confusing it can get.
