If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:31-32
Pride is difficult for all of us to overcome. It's easy for us to recognize it in others but not in ourselves. Our inclinations are to compare ourselves to others. "His sin was bigger than mine," or, "Did you see what she did? I would never do that!" Yet we are all born to sin, and that sinful nature keeps us from God. We have to recognize our short comings and criticisms and be mindful of the opportunities to be open to God's graces. It's easy to do the Christian "things", but sometimes it can be difficult to truly live it. We have to let go of what society says is right and do things of God. It takes great courage to buck the societal trends and stick with God. But I do know that I can do all things through God who strengthens me!
Question for Reflection
Do I recognize when I fall short in my daily encounters with others?
Lord, give me the grace to hear and understand your truth, and then live it!
