But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. John 16:13
When you have a young child, they will sometimes tell a lie because of the consequences for what may come. When they grow older, the lies can be come deeper and more powerful. As adults they can destroy careers, marriages, and even our own being. Often the truth can be difficult or even painful to face. But despite sometimes the pain and discomfort, it is much better than dishonesty. Sometimes the truth is even hard to recognize. Situations in life arise and it can be difficult to discern what is right and just. Jesus told the disciples that an advocate would come, that being the Holy Spirit. The Spirit will guide us to all truth. That little voice inside of us is our conscious. That should be guide by the Spirit of Truth, wisdom, knowledge. Paul speaks of the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. By leaning on these, we can face all truth with a feeling of freedom!
