Then he said to them "Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern, would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?"
We all procrastinate on things. I prefer to call it prioritizing. Sometimes we procrastinate and because we wait too long, we miss the opportunity to help someone or help ourselves. Many Americans today invest in the stock market or other business opportunities. We've all heard the stories about striking at the right time, investing at the right time, or getting out at the right time. Sometimes we wait too long and the opportunity passes by.
Today Jesus heals a man with dropsy on the sabbath; a no-no to the law back then. The leaders call him out on it. Jesus sets them straight, telling them that the need supersedes the law. If that were the law today, hospitals and clinics would all shut down on Sunday. Can you imagine not helping someone in a life or death situation? Jesus calls us to prioritize. If someone has a need, help them right away. Don't wait when it's convenient for you; instead make them a priority. Give God worship, but also take care of those in need. Don't just tell someone, "I'll pray for you." Instead stop and pray for them right then. That's why Spirit FM prays for you multiple times a day.
