Have you ever met anyone with this kind of faith? Over the past forty years, I've served in five parishes in our diocese. In every one of them I've met people who have had this gift of belief, and every time great things have happened! Here are some of the mountains moved: ninety volunteers in three weeks for a new program of respite care for the elderly in the Tarpon Springs area, a home for healing and compassionate care for sick children in Peru, millions of hot lunches now at two locations in Tampa served at the table for the homeless and those in need, a new elementary school, and high school in Haiti, many, many thousands of goods for those suffering devastation in Nicaragua, assistance in building the first new Catholic church in fifty years in Cuba. For these endeavors I was like the disciples in the Gospel today; I had my doubts. Thank God, these parishioners didn't!
