Not the same person

By Fr. Chuck Dornquast
Her friends told her that she wasn’t the same person anymore and that they missed doing the old things with her...

Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, [rise and] walk.” Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong.

Acts 3: 6-7

Her friends told her that she wasn’t the same person anymore and that they missed doing the old things with her. She told me this to explain why she had stopped coming to youth ministry. They said she changed and was different. The resurrection changes us—belief in the resurrection comes from experiencing the resurrection. This happens to many of us in wonderful ways. We experience a change—like Peter. Peter who once denied Jesus now finds that He can heal in the name of Jesus. Thank God Peter allowed himself to become a different person.

Where have I experienced the resurrection in my life?

Jesus, I give you permission to change my life.
